Articles about US President Donald Trump firing his US Ambassador to the Philippines for conspiring with a corrupt senator have surfaced online. They were being shared by Duterte and Marcos fan pages like “Pres. Rody Duterte Worldwide Supporters,” “Kilusang Bagong Lipunan,” “Diehard Duterte Supporters,” “Resbak for Atty. Rody R. Duterte,”

According to the article, fired two ambassadors and has ordered for their return to the White House before January 28.
Sung Kim, US Ambassador to the Philippines, is allegedly one of the individuals collaborating with politicians in the country to smuggle drugs in the United States and other countries.
Trump also named Senator Leila De Lima, as well as two other politicians, to be the chief leaders of illegal drug trafficking and claimed that the US embassy is being used as a means to import these substances.

He added, “I want to make it easier for the Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte in his war against drugs in the Philippines. I have ordered my ambassador, Sung Kim to report back in the country because we are reliably informed the ambassador has been working with some notorious senators like Leila De Lima and others to import drugs in the country, my government will be like that of Duterte. There will be no room for corrupt individuals in my government.”
The articles being shared online were carried by blogs like pinoyworld.net, ddsnewstrend.com, and balitangpinas.net.
However, these were actually sourced from fox-channel.com and radiogtv.com and we have identified as fake news sources since we’ve busted some of their hoaxes and found out that they are fond of sharing a lot of fake news.

You can check out our bust on hoaxes about Vice President Leni Robredo’s abortion, De Lima’s arrest due to threatening New Year message to Duterte, De Lima’s son being arrested for carrying drugs, De Lima being thrown out of a conference hall in Berlin, and many others.
We checked out radiogtv.com and it has a lot of fake stories involving the Philippines, too, some of which we’ve busted, such as President Duterte banning Ms. Universe host Steve Harvey from the Philippines, Duterte banning mini-skirts, and more. From the Philippine-related stories on radiogtv.com, only one thing was true – that Ms. France won as Ms. Universe 2017.

The website also has published a lot of fake stories about Duterte.
Consequently, the whole story of Trump firing Sung Kim for conspiring with De Lima and other senators was all made up.
Although, it is true that Trump has fired foreign US ambassadors, even without concrete replacements, and asked them to leave their offices by midday on the day of the inauguration.

But don’t be quick to believe in false reports that ALL foreign US ambassadors, as well as special envoys, were fired; only politically appointed ambassadors were not granted extensions to remain in their posts beyond inauguration day. By political appointees, we mean those who were appointed because of a special relationship with the president, campaign contributions, or other personal reasons.
Moreover, Trump’s transition team had already issued a directive last December 2016 for these politically appointed diplomats to depart there overseas posts come inauguration day “without exception.” It was also found that doing so can be considered “tradition” in the US.
Rest assured, it seems that US Ambassador to the Philippines Sung Kim has retained his position as he continues to do his duties in the country, even beyond the January 20 deadline of Trump.
