US impose travel sanction on Robredo

The story claimed that the US Department of “States” announced the US-issued travel sanction against Robredo because of her “continued effort to destabilize the government.” The ban on her was said to be for an unspecified period of time.

Robredo was noted to have been accused in playing a role in the impeachment complaint filed against President Rodrigo Duterte. The President was also said to have not been caught surprised if Robredo is indeed involved in the plans to have him impeached.

“I will not be surprised if she is there, or I will not also be – I will also not speculate if she is not there,” Duterte was quoted. The President did utter this statement during a press conference before leaving for Myanmar.

However, the rest of the claim about a travel sanction issued against Robredo due to her destabilization efforts is not true. It was only a product of the imagination of the writers behind the fake news site Aljazeera-channel.com.

‘No destabilization’

As for destabilization efforts, Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana has earlier dismissed claims of destabilization, saying that “criticism [of] the President is not destabilization.”

“In the military, we’ve asked the intelligence community, there is none. Maybe in the civilian sector I don’t know if there is. I’m not saying there is but with what I read in the papers everyday, as far as the military is concerned, there is none,” Lorenzana said during a forum on security threat assessment on March 9 at Camp Aguinaldo.

“Criticism [of] the President is not destabilization. We must accept that there will be criticisms on what we do, whether we do right or good. Meron talagang criticism yan. Let’s accept that. In fact, we should use that as guidance on how good we are doing,” he added.

Aljazeera-channel.com is the fake news site responsible for publishing hoaxes, such as Senator Leila De Lima threatening Duterte if she gets elected as the next president, De Lima claiming to be asthmatic, De Lima saying Filipinos must be grateful to her, Robredo saying she will strip naked if De Lima isn’t released, and more.
