President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed several celebrities to government positions. These include such as Arnell Ignacio as AVP for Community Relations and Service Department of PAGCOR, Kat de Castro for Tourism Undersecretary, Jimmy Bondoc as AVP for Entertainment for PAGCOR, RJ Jacinto as the presidential adviser on economic affairs and information technology communications. And even Freddie Aguilar chimed in saying that Duterte asked him to become the new National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) head, although NCCA denied this.
With every story that popped up about Duterte’s celebrity appointees, the netizens never forget to ask about one Die-Hard Duterte Supporter (DDS) – Mocha Uson. They’d ask when the vocal Duterte supporter, who even warned Vice President Leni Robredo when she said “Support him [Duterte] or we will force to remove you from your office,” will finally get her own appointment from the President.
Then came the news this morning, August 4, about Mocha Uson as the Bureau of Customs’ “social media consultant.” Is she finally getting her reward for being a staunch Duterte supporter, like all the other celebrities?

According to Rappler’s report, ABS-CBN broke the news about Customs Commissioner Nicanor Faeldon confirming Uson’s post as the bureau’s social media consultant.
Less than an hour later, Faeldon told Rappler that he was “misquoted” earlier.
“She wanted to help us disseminate the information, anything that has to do with BOC. Mocha is a very active blogger so I also asked her to please help us disseminate our reform agenda through her blog,” he said in a phone interview.
The BOC also tweeted this message, denying Uson’s appointment, while saying that she can write about the bureau on her blog.
JUST IN: Comm. Nicanor Faeldon will not appoint Mocha Uson as BOC Social Media Consultant but she can write articles about BOC on her blog.

Uson’s Facebook page has close to 4 million followers while her Twitter page has more than 96,000 followers.
News about Uson’s appointment came after she interviewed Faeldon for her Facebook blog on Wednesday to relay the messages of OFWs to the BOC chief about their delayed balikbayan boxes and in some cases, their failure to reach the recipients.
