What can You Say about Duterte and GMA with these Photos with Atty. Panelo?

Among the photos were those of the birthday celebrant and Panelo’s friend, former President and now Congresswoman Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, who was celebrating her 69th birthday in her residence during a three-day furlough granted by the Supreme Court (SC), from 8AM of April 4 to 5PM of April 6.

The former president has been on hospital arrest at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center in Quezon City since 2012 for plunder. She is suffering from multilevel cervical spondylosis, a condition characterized by the wearing of the bones. She started wearing a neck brace in 2011 due to a pinched nerve, although she’s not wearing one during her 69th birthday party and looks less frail in the photos, compared to those times when she was photographed in her wheelchair and wearing her neck brace.

As for her association with Duterte and Panelo, it seems that they are quite close, seeing as how she was even eating at the same table as Panelo and the Duterte volunteers. It can be recalled that CGMA appointed Duterte as her anti-crime consultant during her presidency.

When Duterte started going on sorties during his presidential campaign and even during the presidential debates, he has always expressed that if he gets elected as the next president of the Philippines, he will release CGMA from detention. During the gathering of the Friends of Rody Duterte in Pampanga, Inquirer quoted him saying, “If I am elected President, I will release her. Why? Because the evidence [against her] is weak. I know that. I am a lawyer.”

On Tuesday afternoon, May 3, the said photos have been taken down.
