Facebook page “Pinoy Ako Blog” slammed political blogger Rey Joseph Nieto, a.k.a. Thinking Pinoy (TP), for wrongly naming a senator’s wife as the Fil-American civic leader and Liberal Party supporter Loida Nicolas-Lewis.
TP posted a meme showing Senator Franklin Drilon and a lady in the Vatican. He then captioned the meme claiming that the people in the photo were Senator Drilon and Lewis.
“Frank and Loida spotted in the Vatican. Pakapalan na! Hanggang Pope, nila-lobby?” TP wrote.
However, Pinoy Ako Blog corrected TP, saying that the lady in the photo with Drilon is actually his wife, Mila Drilon.
“That’s not Loida Lewis po. That’s the wife of Sen. Franklin Drilon,” Pinoy Ako Blog wrote.
The FB page also scored TP for “lying” even during Holy Week.
“Walang pakialam sa Holy Week no? Makapag sinungaling, wagas. Kahit mali ang picture, basta makapag intriga lang.”
The page even compared TP to Mocha Uson, another avid Duterte supporter, for sowing fake news.
“Yung picture po sa lower left that’s Loida Lewis. Kawawa naman sya, at paborito nyong gawan ng intriga kahit walang ginagawang masama sa inyo,” the page said.
“Just like Ate Mocha, gagawa na lang kayo ng fake news, hindi nyo pa ginagalingan. Sayang sweldo,” the page added.
But TP himself has owned up to his mistake, issuing an erratum about how he mistakenly identified Drilon’s wife as Lewis. He apologized for his error, earning him praises from some netizens.
