Has US President-elect Donald Trump really sent his private jet to pick up Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte and seek his advice?
At least this is what a few online articles have been claiming and they were being shared by Duterte’s supporters to Duterte fan pages on Facebook.

The articles were picked up by websites cnn-alive.com, usanews-tv.com, and tv-bbc.com, which, you might have observed, have website names closely related to the names of major news sites CNN and BBC. For clarification, these sites are not related to the major media sites.

According to the articles, which share the exact same content, Trump dispatched his personal jet to Manila to fetch Duterte. Trump allegedly wanted to seek Duterte’s advice as he prepares for his inauguration in January 2017.
The articles noted how Trump said last month that he wanted to be as hardworking as Duterte. This is actually a fake article that Meme Buster has busted with “Busted: Article about Trump wanting to be like Duterte is a HOAX!”
They also claimed that that the two leaders already met during the 71st UN General Assembly in New York last September before Trump was elected. However, this is yet another lie because Duterte sent Foreign Affairs Secretary Perfecto Yasay Jr. to the event instead.
Duterte previously threatened to pull the Philippines out of UN and lashed out at UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, calling him a “fool.” This came after Ban denounced the violations of human rights in Duterte’s war on drugs.

And that bit about Trump sending his jet to Manila to pick Duterte up just so he could ask for advice from the Philippine president? It’s completely made up.
