You are lying

After hearing the response from the Tindig Pilipinas member Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte on October 13 slammed the senator anew in another Facebook post, calling him out for lying.

First, Mayor Sara enumerated the issues thrown against her father, President Rodrigo Duterte, since 1995 until the current year, including in 2015 when Trillanes asked her father for support for his vice presidential run.

She also noted how Trillanes defended his move to ask for the older Duterte’s support.

Duterte,” Trillanes said.

To this, Mayor Sara said: “Naconfine ka ba ng matagal sa mental? You are lying.”

She also challenged “Pinocchio” Trillanes to prove just how true his accusations are about Duterte’s ill-gotten wealth.

“Maiba pa tayo, since now we have established lying, prove to everybody that piece of shit paper of bank accounts you are waving around is not fake, Pinocchio,” she said.

Pakita mo bayag mo, huwag mo itago yan sa Senado,” she added.

Sara said that unlike former Vice President Jejomar Binay, she won’t back down without a fight.

“If you made VP Binay go away without a fight, ang babae na Bisaya hindi umaatras.

She added that she stayed quiet at first to avoid getting into a fight, but not she dared Trillanes to prove his accusations first, not for them to prove him wrong.

Pero may hangganan ang lahat, now is your time to shine..” she said.

“Don’t ask us to prove you wrong, prove first na hindi ka nagsisinungaling,” she added.

Sara roasted Senators Trillanes, Risa Hontiveros, and Francis Pangilinan, who are members of the cause-oriented group Tindig Pilipinas, for being “opportunists” and “plastic.”

In his defense, Trillanes said he didn’t know then that Duterte killed people, also reasoning out that it would be more opportunistic of him to continue his relationship with Duterte despite finding themselves with opposing views. He also reiterated his call for the president and the Duterte family to sign the waiver to prove that they are not corrupt.

Hontiveros said that she was “saddened” by Sara’s remarks against her, but does not harbor “ill will.”

She thanked the younger Duterte for her support for her senatorial candidate, but said that her stand against war on drugs has been consistent.

“This is not a question of loyalty. This is a matter of service, of consistency and of principle, and the defense of the rule of law and human rights. I am sure, as a fellow public servant, she understands that,” Hontiveros said.

“I have been consistent in this regard. My stand on the war on drugs and my current criticisms of the administration should come as no surprise,” she added.

“Dissent is healthy in a democracy. It serves a check and balance to abuse of power and a way to better governance. It should never be viewed as a hindrance,” she added.

Senator Pangilinan said that while he remembers his debt of gratitude towards the Dutertes, it has limitations.
