Busted: Grace Poe’s Husband Did Not Renounce US Citizenship A Month Ago

It turned out that Poe’s husband has indeed renounced his US citizenship before a local official on April 7. According to Rappler, he filed his renunciation before Carlos Tan Tañada Yam, barangay Chairman of Greenhills, San Juan. He also signed two documents – the Affidavit of Renunciation of Allegiance to the United States of America/Renunciation of American Citizenship and his Oath of Allegiance to the Philippines.

But does April 7 count as “around a month ago” when it was only 17 days away from the day of the debate on April 24? On average, there are 30.42 days in a month, so was Poe truthful in qualifying her husband’s renouncement as around a month ago?
