Sara Duterte tells netizen how Dutertes have paid back ‘utang na loob’ to Cory

In response to a critic, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte said on October 16 that the Dutertes have paid back their debt of gratitude to the late President Corazon Aquino, who appointed then young prosecutor Rodrigo Duterte as officer-in-charge vice mayor of Davao City.

Sara explained just what the Dutertes did to pay back the Aquinos when she reacted to a netizen’s question and how they remained loyal to Aquino when she faced ouster attempts.

“Nagbayad si Digong- sa lahat ng coup d’ etat against Cory, he supported her admin and he worked for Davao City as Cory expected of him,” Sara said.

She added that President Duterte also paid back with how he drove the rebels away from Davao and “opened” it to the world.

“Digong turned it around, NPA napunta sa bundok, crime incidence went down. Pumasok na ang Jollibee!” she said.

“Cory was paid, Davao was opened to the world and Jollibee talaga ang peg nito,” she added.

Sara recalled how they once again paid back the late president when they helped her son, former President Benigno Aquino III, through then 2010 vice presidential candidate Mar Roxas in the 2010 election campaign.

“In 2010, Nagbayad kami ulit ke Cory, we assisted PNoy in the elections through the intercession of Roxas. Nobody can question tagatak pawis ko kakasigaw sa lahat ng stage sa Davao na iboto si Noynoy,” she said.

“Ito lang ang argumento na kami na ang tumulong, kami pa magbayad sa mga Aquinos. Labo. Anyway, we paid by keeping quiet and focusing on Davao. Sumasagot lang naman kami sa tira ng Yellow dahil nagpapanic sila nung nanalo si PRD,” she added.

She questioned why the Dutertes would be called “plastic” and “opportunists” when they were only fighting against black propaganda.

Addressing the critic, Sara said, “Tulad mo Doc, would I give you the light of day, if you did not ask the question? Of course not, pakialam ko ba sa conceit mo. To be fair, saludo ako dahil hindi ka nagtatago sa fake account.”

She also brought up how the Duterte critics failed to produce “proof of authenticity and source” for the waiver, referring to how they are being urged to sign a waiver, along with President Rodrigo Duterte.

“Nasaan na ang proof of authenticity and source para sa waiver? Di naman puwede na magsisinungaling tapos eh sa amin pa hihingi ng ebidensiya. When you accuse, you should be able to stand on your own feet,” Sara wrote.

Sara was reacting to a question posed by Clinton Balud, @Simply_Clinton on Twitter, who said, “Likewise. Your father was appointed by Cory Aquino to be Vice Mayor. What did you pay the Aquinos in return?”

Balud tweeted the question in reaction to how Sara slammed three senators for being opportunists and ungrateful.

On October 17, Balud reacted to Sara’s remarks on his question.

He apologized to the Aquinos for involving them in the issue, noting that he merely wanted to point out Sara’s “hypocrisy.”

“She was calling three minority senators as opportunists and ungrateful since they asked for the help of Digong to court the vote of Davao back then; only to criticize him now, and even “conspiring to destabilize the government/oust him.” What she is accusing the three is exactly what she is doing to the three, the LP, the Aquinos,” Balud wrote.

“Cory was supposed to appoint Soledad Duterte to become Vice Mayor of Davao but she declined and suggested Digong instead, who was a prosecutor at that time,” he said.

“This launched the political career of Digong, and Davao became what it is now. Liberal Party, gave birth to the political career of Digong, but it is the same party being accused of nonexistent destabilization plots, which even the military has consistently denied to this day,” he added.

“She even berated PNoy, the president who had a bigger if not the biggest budget/allocation for Mindanao than most of his predecessors,” Balud said.

“This is what Sarah is paying back the Aquinos, the one I wanted to point out. If the three are ingrates, isn’t she as well?” he concluded his post.
