Netizen slams dela Rosa for ‘politicizing’ position: You’ve cried more in a year than Kris Aquino’s tenure on ABS-CBN

A netizen hit Philippine National Police chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa for “politicizing” his position, crying and begging for sympathy, and “campaigning” for a senatorial seat.

Facebook user Lorenzo Guerrero criticized dela Rosa after the Philippine top cop told Vice President Leni Robredo to “let (President Rodrigo) Duterte finish first” if she wanted to become president.

“There was never an explicit public statement of VP Robredo’s desire to run for President. All interpretations were product of insinuations and right wing paranoia. She’s the least of your worries,” Guerrero wrote.

He hit dela Rosa for those times when he cried in public, even comparing him to former presidential daughter and sister Kris Aquino, a host and actress.

“You’re essentially politicizing your position. You’ve cried more in a year than Kris Aquino’s tenure on ABS-CBN. You keep begging for sympathy that is needlessly deserved,” Guerrero said.

“You scold people you don’t agree with. You point faults of the opposition while brushing your side’s dirt under the rug,” he added.

“She not yet trying to run as president but you’re already campaigning for a senator’s seat. You are a dog. You’re willing to do anything for your master. Who’s being political now?” he continued.

Guerrero advised dela Rosa not to worry about Robredo.

“Furthermore, I would worry less about VP Robredo and worry more about your master’s successor. A certain mayor from Mindanao who is going to inherit the throne of President.LOL,” he said.

Guerrero’s comment has been reacted to over 1,500 times, as of the afternoon of October 18, since he posted it on October 16 at 10:37 pm on Rappler’s report about dela Rosa’s comment on Robredo.

Based on the comments on Rappler’s Facebook post, it seemed like Guerrero was not the only one thinking about how the PNP chief is politicizing his position.

Dela Rosa, in Rappler’s report, said that he is open to Robredo’s possible run for the presidency in 2019, but only if she allows President Duterte to finish his six-year term.

“Sana tulungan na lang niya ang presidente, anyway, she will have her time, she will have her time pagkatapos nito…Kung gusto niyang mag-presidente, subukan natin siya. Basta patapusin muna ‘yung buong administration ni presidente,” dela Rosa was quoted on October 16 during the World Pandesal Day forum.

President Duterte remarked in March during his official trip to Myanmar that Robredo was in a hurry to become president. But he also said in June that Robredo is his only legitimate successor.

Robredo has repeatedly said that she is not after the presidency and has no plans of running for the presidency in 2022.

As for dela Rosa crying in public, he shed tears on November 23, 2016 during a Senate probe into the death of Albuera Mayor Rolando Espinosa Sr. and on September 5, 2017 during the Senate inquiry over allegations of state-sanctioned killings after the death of minors Kian delos Santos and Carl Arnaiz.

Dela Rosa said in May 2017 that he was open to running for a Senate seat.
