Senator Leila De Lima is under fire in social medial portals again because of an article that says she passed a bill to the Senate in which senators will receive immunity from any legal cases that will be filed against them.
As of writing, the ABiaS-CBN article has already been shared in their Facebook page and in a Duterte fanpage. Both have garnered several likes, comments and shares already with most of the comments showing that they believe the claims of the site without conducting any proper research of credible sources.

According to the article from abiascbn.blogspot.com, the bill passed by De Lima asks for immunity of senators from being detained in jail. She also allegedly asked Senators Kiko Pangilinan, Franklin Drilon, Risa Hontiveros, and Antonio Trillanes IV to sign the petition for it to be passed this year.
Senators Alan Peter Cayetano and Manny Pacquiao allegedly tried to block this petition from De Lima before it was handed to Senate President Koko Pimentel.

The article also claimed that De Lima said that passing the alleged bill was not only for her but for the right of every elected official to do their job in the office. The site also said that a conference was conducted hosted by De Lima and four other media personnel to discuss the said bill.
However, from the name of the website itself, it can be proven that the news has no credible source and was only written in order to misinform people and to promote hate for De Lima. The news was also written in a way that would put senators who are in good terms with President Duterte such as Cayetano and Pacquiao in good light.
The news posted by ABiaS-CBN is proven to be fake and there had been no such bill that was passed by De Lima that gives immunity to Senators from any legal charges. The quoted statement of De Lima is also proven to be made up as there had been no interviews or press conferences regarding the matter.
Despite how obvious it is that abiascbn.blogspot.com is a troll and not credible, there are still people in social networking sites such as Facebook who believed in the articles that they posted.
