Someone created parody page ‘Malacañang Events and Catering Services’ Isabelle Duterte’s controversial photoshoot

Amid the controversy that stemmed from the pre-debut photoshoot for presidential granddaughter Isabelle Duterte, a parody page was born on December 16. It is called “Malacañang Events & Catering Services.”

The parody Facebook page was likely created after Isabelle, the daughter of presidential son Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte, responded to a fellow Twitter user about how she sent her request to Malacañang for her photoshoot.

“Hi dear, I sent a request in the office for my photoshoot in Malacañang, you can actually do the same. If you wanted to book contact them, they also have tours around the Palace for free. Or you can message me and we can do it together. I hope your Nanay will have a happy 50th,” Isabelle tweeted.

This led to other Twitter users urging other people to start considering Malacañang as the venue for their events.

“Who wants to organize a get-together in Malacañan? For baptisms, birthdays, and photoshoots, we now have a contact person. #PalaceParty,” @MarcoSardillo tweeted.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque also defended Isabelle’s photoshoot, calling it a non-issue, considering how President Rodrigo Duterte and his family are entitled to living at the Palace but opted not to do so.  He said that just like any ordinary citizen, Isabelle can take photos at the Malacañang.

“Sa ’kin, wala namang masama doon. Nag-pose lang for birthday pictures yung apo ni Presidente sa Malacañang,” Roque said.

“I don’t think it should be an issue. Kasi dapat nga nakatira sila sa Malacañang. Hindi naman sila tumitira sa Malacañang so gaya sila ng ordinaryong mamamayan na pwede ring magpicture-picture sa Malacañang,” he added. “Huwag na po nating ipagkait yung photo opportunity sa loob ng Palasyo,”

With more reactions and jokes coming in about Isabelle’s now-deleted tweet on how anyone can submit a request for a photoshoot or another event, the “Malacañang Events and Catering Services” parody page was created.

The page now has a few contents, including a collage of the photos of the different events the Palace can cater to, as per the page’s claim. The photos showed were those of the baptism of the daughter of actor and Duterte supporter Robin Padilla and Mariel Rodriguez when President Rodrigo Duterte was a godfather, the 40th birthday party of Marinduque Rep. Lord Allan Velasco, and Isabelle’s pre-debut photoshoot. All three events were taken in Malacañang.

The parody page even got into the spirit of Christmas as they showed PNP chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa decked in a Santa Claus outfit.

It also posted a photo of Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson dancing on stage with the other Mocha Girls.

A catering service is even available, offering best sellers such as Dinuguang Adik, Pasta Pasista, Martial Lomi, Impeached Mango Pie, and Shabu Shabu.

As of writing, the parody page already has almost 7,000 likes.
