Has a Cebu-based parish priest really impregnated the daughters of his associate pastor?
Several blogs, such as mtv-tv3.com and meganews360.com, carried these accusations against the priest, which were shared by Duterte fan pages “Atty. Rody R. Duterte Supporters,” gaining over 900 shares and by Duterte supporter Raffy Gutierrez, whose post has gained 1,000 shares.

The story claims that a priest from Palanas in the town of Alcantara in Cebu raped and impregnated his pastor’s daughters, who are 14 and 16 years of age. The victims’ mother reportedly learned about the rape when she discovered that her daughters are three and five months pregnant. They then reported the priest’s abuses on “Thursday,” no date was cited in the articles, to the police station.
A certain Maria Jared Llenos of the station’s Women and Children Police Desk (WCPD) revealed that the victims’ mother thought the rape occurred last October, adding that it was the time when her daughters were serving the priest at his residence. The police further added that the priest even threatened the victims to stay quiet or he will kill them.
Alcantara’s SPO1 Artemio Cababat said that the victims and their mother still did not give them much information because they are afraid of what the priest might do to them. However, the priest is said to be temporarily detained by the police while facing charges for violating RA 7610 or the Anti-Child Abuse Law.
When Facebook user Alberto C. Lee shared the news, someone from the Cebu town of Alcantara reacted to the news, saying that it is not true.
Genesis Elic insisted that no such incident happened in his town and that he can vouch for it, considering how he lived a “100 meters away from the convent” of the Alcantara Parish church.

Elic also urged the other commenters on the post to visit the local government page of their town on Facebook, called Alcantara Freedom Wall, where the locals also talked about the source of the fake news.
Moreover, the photo used to depict what seemed like a man’s arrest was a photo showing Islamic extremist Australian-borm Musa Cerantonio being flown from Cebu to Manila for his trip to Camp Bagong Diwa. The said photo was used by Rappler in this article.
Both sources of the story, mtv-tv3.com and meganews360.com, turned out to be fake news sites, with several hoaxes published on their websites about the Philippines.
