The senator delivered on his earlier threat to sue Uson, along with broadcaster Erwin Tulfo and CNN Philippines contributor/”Davao Breaking News” Facebook page admin Ben Tesiorna for libel for publishing fake information about his alleged foreign bank accounts.

“Ngayong umaga nag-file po tayo ng various cases laban Ms. Mocha Uson. Bale pito ito lahat —isang administrative case for grave misconduct at anim na criminal cases,” Trillanes told reporters after the filing of cases.

“The era of fake news is over .Ang lahat ng mga magkakalat ng fake news ngayon ay mananagot sa ating batas. So ‘yan ang kailangang matutunan ng lahat,” he said

Trillanes added that he sought Uson’s “immediate dismissal” from her post.

He detailed the cases that he filed against Uson, including three counts of cyberlibel; a case for the violation of Republic Act 6713 (Code of Ethics for Public Employees and Officials) for still practicing her profession in the field of entertainment; a case for the violation of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices for using her post in inflicting undue harm; a case for falsifying documents; and an administrative charge for grave misconduct.

Uson shared photos of documents purported to be Trillanes’ offshore bank accounts.

President Rodrigo Duterte also came out throwing the same accusations against Trillanes, adding that the senator earned millions from his backchannel talks with China over Scarborough Shoal.

In a bid to disprove Duterte, Uson, Tulfo, and Tesiorna’s claims about his bank accounts abroad, Trillanes flew to Singapore to visit two of the banks where he was said to have an account. However, DBS Bank Alexandra Bank said the account numbers he was accused of having do not exist, while Hongkong Shanghai Bank does not have an office at the Raffles City Tower.

Magdalo Rep. Gary Alejano was also at the Office of the Ombudsman to show his support for Trillanes.

And here are some parts of Trillanes’ complaint against Uson, as tweeted by GMA News.
