Netizen calls Erap’s star-studded birthday party with CGMA, Imelda, others ‘Magnanakaw Inc.’

Netizens had varied reactions to a photo showing the powerful guests of former President and now Manila Mayor Joseph “Erap” Ejercito-Estrada’s birthday party. However, Facebook user Bernard Ong’s strongly worded post was among those that went viral.

Ong cut to the chase and gave his post this attention-grabbing title – “Magnanakaw Inc.”

“The place to start if you are against Corruption. These unrepentant trapos – plus their cronies, sidekicks, accomplices – are big contributors to poverty & underdevelopment,” Ong wrote.

He also suggested several captions to the photo, giving the following possible captions:

“1. The Deplorables
2. Plunderers’ Night Out
3. Not Only Binay
4. Du30 galit kuno sa kapwa kurap
5. Why Death Penalty excludes Plunder
6. Plunderers. Volt in ! (parang Voltes V)
7. Wala pa ring tatalo kay Imelda (to the tune of Alaska jingle)”

He even urged his followers to add their own caption to his list.

On top of that, he edited the photo of the party, which showed Estrada, President Rodrigo Duterte, former President and now Congresswoman Gloria Arroyo, former First Lady Imelda Marcos, former Vice President Jejomar Binay, former Senator Juan Ponce-Enrile, former First Gentleman Jose Miguel “Mike” Arroyo, and former Senator Bongbong Marcos.

Ong noted that all the figures he placed on the photo were sourced from published articles and cases filed against those people pictured.

In the comments section, Ong added that the photo in his viral post was actually made of two separate pictures he combined to get all eight people in “one wide-angle frame.” There was no Photoshop involved, just cut-and-paste, he explained.

One commenter, a certain Noyski Navarrete, told Ong that most of the cases he mentioned in the photo were “already either dismissed and/or respondents have already been acquitted,” adding that it is “unfair” to rehash them.

But Ong replied, citing the cases that are still pending, ignored, or caused the politician’s conviction.

And Jamesky Romersky Vanderlipe didn’t forget about the Aquinos, to which Ong also has a response, saying that the Aquinos also had issues of their own, as they favored friends and cronies. The only difference between them and those in Erap’s party would be “in terms of not enriching themselves,” Ong said.
