Former Senator Aquilino “Nene” Pimentel Jr. has something to say to those who opposed the burial of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr. at the Libingan ng mga Bayani – tell that to the Marcoses.
“Ipipilit mong ilibing dyan, they cannot move on quietly,” Pimentel said on Friday during his interview with DZMM.
This statement came a week after Marcos’ surprise burial at the heroes’ cemetery despite opposing views from the Martial Law victims, their families, and other sectors.
Pimentel said “moving on” does not come easy to those who were hurt during Marcos’ regime.

“We can never say let’s just move on. Hindi pwede dahil nasaktan ang mga tao. Hindi lang nasaktan emotionally, pati buhay, ang daming nakatayang buhay na mercilessly massacred during the martial law,” he said.
Pimentel himself suffered during the martial rule as a political prisoner and until now, he is one of those who expressed his opposition of Marcos’ LNMB burial, citing the crimes committed during his regime.
The former senator said that the Marcoses should ask the victims of Martial Law for forgiveness and not spread the wrong notion that the Philippines enjoyed its Golden Age during that rule. He added that it is not too far off to guess that people will try to desecrate Marcos’ resting place.

He urged Marcos’ children to move their father’s remains once more and put it back in Batac.
