Senator Antonio Trillanes IV flew to Singapore on September 18 to counter allegations made by President Rodrigo Duterte against him over foreign bank accounts.

GMA News Online reports that in the morning of September 19, Trillanes is set to visit the DBS Bank where Duterte accused Trillanes of maintaining a bank account with 193,000 of unspecified currency under bank account number 178000296012.
Trillanes said that he can disprove Duterte’s claim.
“Pupunta ako sa banko mismo na minention ni Duterte doon sa Singapore para patunayan na wala akong accounts doon,” Trillanes said.
“Dito mapapakita na hindi lang sa wala akong tinatago, kung hindi kung gaano siya kasinungaling,” Trillanes told the media.
Even if the DBS bank account holder’s name is said to be Antonio F. Trillanes, which does not match his full name of Antonio Fuentes Trillanes IV, he said he would have the account opened.

“Kung ano man yan, may the IV man yan o walang IV, sarado man yan or existing account, joint or single, lahat yan papabuksan natin. Para makita ng mga kababayan natin na ginagamit ni Duterte yung kapangyarihan niya para siraan yung oposisyon at para i-divert yung issue palayo doon sa issue laban sa kanya at doon sa kanyang anak na involved na illegal drugs,” Trillanes said.
Trillanes was referring to the involvement of Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte, whom he accused of being a part of the Davao Group, which accepts bribes in exchange for facilitating shipments. He also accused Paolo of having a dragon tattoo on his back that could signify that he is a member of a drug triad.
Aside from the DBS Bank, Trillanes also plans on visiting The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC), named as the “Hong Kong Shanghai Bank” in the documents purportedly showing Trillanes’ numerous foreign bank accounts. He will visit the HSBC Raffles Branch. He also called the “Hong Kong Shanghai Bank” nonexistent because it is not the bank’s proper name.
“Gusto ko malaman na agad para hindi na tumagal yung issue pa so kailangan, definitively, ma-resolve natin yung issue, malaman natin yung kung totoo o hindi,” the senator said, once again repeating his call for Duterte to sign bank secrecy waivers.
“I went to such great lengths to prove na wala akong tinatagong nakaw na yaman. Siya nga ngayon, may paratang sa kanya, kailangan ipakita niya na hindi siya kurakot. Pumirma siya ng waiver, ngayon na,” he added.
Trillanes submitted waivers to the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) allowing the watchdog to open 12 foreign bank accounts he is accused of owning.
Duterte accused Trillanes of earning millions from his backchannel talks with China.
