Andanar: ‘Yung the possibility of winning ay talagang no-brainer na si Mocha

Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar said Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson has a possibility of winning if she decides to run for senator this 2019.
“Kung winnability lang ang pag-usapan, or ‘yung the possibility of winning ay talagang no-brainer na si Mocha, she can really draw the crowd in a Senate campaign,” Andanar said during his radio press briefing on November 18.

“Malaki ang followers niya, eh. So siguro sabihin mo na lang, ‘yung 5 million [followers] na lang eh boboto at may mga kamag-anak naman ‘yan, di ba? So malaki ‘yung chance [na manalo siya],” he added.

Andanar congratulated Uson after reports surfaced that she was announced by House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez as one of Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) candidates for the 2019 senatorial race.

However, Uson has already clarified that she has no plans for a senatorial bid this 2019, although she might reconsider if President Rodrigo Duterte asks her himself.
In an interview with CNN Philippines, Uson said it is too early to start talking about the 2019 elections. She once again said that she has no plans of filing for candidacy for the Senate.

“Marami kasing mga tao na nagcoconvince sa akin, isa na po diyan si Speaker Alvarez. Sinabi ko na wala talaga akong plano, hindi po ako tatakbo,” Uson said.

She explained that when Alvarez called her up on stage during the mass oathtaking for PDP-Laban in Cebu City on November 17, she just came up on stage but did not understand what the Speaker was saying in Bisaya. She added that she only attended the event to witness the oathtaking and gather with other bloggers.

“Mocha Uson” trended on Twitter since Alvarez announced and confirmed her senatorial bid, with Twitter users divided on expressing support and criticism against the ruling party’s move.
