Twitter users got annoyed at Senator Richard Gordon for the way he controlled the discussions on Dengvaxia during the joint hearing conducted by the Senate Blue Ribbon and Health and Demography Committees on December 14.
Netizens complained about Gordon’s tendency to hog the discussion time and cut off resource persons, such as former President Benigno Aquino III, former Health Secretary Janette Garin, and former Budget Secretary Florencio Abad.

Aquino’s former Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abi Valte also noticed the same thing when she tweeted, “Why invite resource persons when you don’t let them finish what they’re saying.”
Why invite resource persons when you don’t let them finish what they’re saying ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

“Dick Gordon is running the Blue Ribbon Committee as a one-man committee given that he alone questions & when answered, he disrupts & does not seem to accept answers that refutes his well-founded biases,” said a Twitter user.

heard some of the discussions on the Dengue vaccine at the senate. Sen Dick Gordon is such a big dick – very impolite, arrogant and too full of himself. the hearing was confusing because of him

I don’t know what pisses me off more: Dick Gordon being an asshole telling a doctor—AN EXPERT ON MEDICINE—in the middle of a thorough, proper explanation on how research works, to “get to the point” with an annoyed face, or him doing that with the voice of a fat pig with a cold.

Someone should tell Dick Gordon to shut-up when someone is talking. Stop butting in and interrupting the resource person speaking.

Sen. Gordon must’ve had failed his English Comprehension class. And he is also running his own show. Understand and let other senators speak. Your name suits you, you Dick.

One complained about how the senator usually turns committee hearings into a “Gordon show.”
The Senate should really consider replacing Dick as Chair of Blue Ribbon. I have high respect for that man but gosh, he really can’t lead the committee hearings well. Everything turns into a Gordon show.

Another hit Gordon’s “monologue.”
Thank God that’s over!
Senate Monologue by Dick Gordon with matching accent! My ears, they bleed!— Miss Maggie (@MiaMagdalena) December 14, 2017
Senator Joel Villanueva was reported to have left the Senate hearing because, as what Senator JV Ejercito told the reporters, he waited too long for his turn to ask questions because Gordon was monopolizing the hearing with his monologue. Villanueva later said that he was annoyed by Gordon’s remark to his fellow senators to keep quiet during the hearing, but explained that he left to go to his mother who was confined at the hospital.
During the hearing, Minority Leader Franklin Drilon asked Gordon if other senators could have their turn in asking questions to the resource persons.
