Several Facebook fan pages have been sharing articles about Karen Davila will allegedly run for the 2019 Senatorial Election with the persuasion of Senator Leila De Lima.
Facebook pages like Duterte News Global, Duterte Warriors and Marcos Warriors have posted the news and each post from the respective groups have accumulated more than a hundred shares and thousands of reactions.

Although the article was picked up by blogs like newstrendph.com and du30newsinfo.com, it actually originated from a blog called Abiascbn.blogspot.com, ABS-CBN has given Ms. Davila full support whether she decides to run or otherwise, to which Davila declares that she is only willing to run under the Liberal Party and Mar Roxas.
The article also quoted De Lima saying that Mar Roxas’ win is a given due to President Rodrigo Duterte failing the Filipino people.
The article also likens Davila to former Vice President and Kabayan Noli De Castro who ran for senator in 2001. Eventually, he ran in 2004 as the running mate of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and won.

According to the news, Davila will run for senator this coming 2019 and then run for vice president in 2022, adding that this piece of information has garnered mixed reviews from netizens. However, Davila’s final decision will soon be aired, stated the article.
Karen Davila is an ABS-CBN news anchor known for stating her political views outright, even questioning those in power. This makes her a target of supporters of said politicians.
However, said news articles that are being spread over the web contain no sources and no such statements or announcements were made by the network, ABS-CBN, as well as Karen Davila herself.
Once again, these groups and blogs are spreading false information without verifying its authenticity. As an audience, therefore, it is your own duty and responsibility to validate whether the news you are reading is fact or fiction before sharing it to others.

And Abiascbn is one of those fake news sites that you should avoid. It has been spreading completely made-up news since it was created, many of which we have busted. The site has made up stories about Senator Risa Hontiveros prohibiting exposures of tattoos in public, Vice President Leni Robredo preventing the reopening of the Hacienda Luisita case, and De Lima having an abortion, among others.
