“Alam mo, huwag tayo magbolahan, ‘yung iba talaga diyan pinatay talaga—salvage. ‘Yan ang tinatawag na salvage o extra-judicial killing. I will not say there was none—meron. Pero kung sabihin mo na state-sponsored killing, order ko na patayin ‘yan, kalokohan ‘yan,” the president said while he was at the Indoor Stadium of the Hassanal Bolkia National Sports Complex at Bandar Seri Begawan in Brunei where thousands of Filipinos came to watch him.

There had been numerous disapproval of the Duterte administration coming from international organizations and prominent people because of the alleged involvement of the state to extra-judicial killings.

One of the most outspoken critics of the President is UN Special Rapporteur Agnes Callamard, who said that the statements by Duterte were “license to kill” because of his instructions to kill drug suspects.

Earlier, the Palace announced that UN rapporteurs had been invited to the country so that they can conduct their own investigation over the rampant killings because of Duterte’s war against drugs.
