In the middle of a shabu session in the New Bilibid Prison’s Building 14, a Chinese drug lord was killed while three other high-profile inmates were hurt in a stabbing incident on Wednesday morning.
Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II said that the stabbing at around 7:40 am killed Chinese drug lord Tony Co. The inmates that were also hurt in the incident were Jaybee Sebastian, Peter Co, and Vincent Sy.
Aguirre added that Peter Co was in critical condition while Sebastian was already stabilized. Both were admitted to the Medical Center of Muntinlupa City. Sy, on the other hand, was rushed to the Ospital ng Muntinlupa.
These drug lords and other high-profile inmates were housed inside Bilibid’s Building 14, which was supposedly guarded by the Special Action Force (SAF).
Initial reports showed that the Chinese drug lords were having a shabu session when the stabbing started, Aguirre said. He added that another inmate, an ex-police major, tried to stop the session but Tony Co allegedly attacked him with a knife.
Aguirre said that they had no idea how the drug lords were able to gain access to shabu into the SAF-guarded building.
Alleged drug lord Sebastian has been mentioned several times during the House inquiry on the alleged drug trade in the Bilibid and he had been invited to testify at the hearing.
