Former APO singer and activist Jim Paredes allegedly had his concert at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) snubbed by fans. At least this is what Okd2.com is claiming.
And the Marcos Facebook fan page “Kilusang Bagong Lipunan” was quick to share the article, which gained over 1,400 shares, as of writing.

The netizens naturally went right ahead and bashed Paredes, who recently became controversial for berating Duterte supporters “Duterte Youth” at the EDSA 31st anniversary celebration. “Duterte Youth” is reportedly even going to sue Paredes for unjust vexation and theft over the confrontation and they have the support of Solicitor General Jose Calida.
Netizens said that Paredes deserved to be snubbed.
Others chastised him for using CCP, one of Ferdinand Marcos’ projects, when he is anti-Marcos.

We checked okd2.com’s article, which claimed that Paredes’ “Gawad sa Puso ni Jim” concert had 2,900 concertgoers asking for a refund on March 10, the said day of the concert at the CCP.
A certain Nikki Valderrama, who is said to be the concert’s head organizer, allegedly said that 3,800 tickets were sold from January 13 to February 10, but over half asked for a refund after learning of Paredes’ viral tiff with the Duterte supporters.

She was even quoted saying: “We planned to suspend the concert, but we will be experiencing big loss if we opt to do so, so we proceed. We never imagined this would happen.”
Paredes’ concert was arranged as early as November 2016 and tickets were sold out last month. However, less than 50% of the ticket buyers attended the event.
The said concert was allegedly organized for the benefit of Yolanda victims, but it only led to losses, as per the organizer’s statement. Valderrama also said that the snub would not have happened if Paredes avoided his controversial tiff with “Duterte Youth.”
We tried to look for any write-ups about Paredes’ CCP concert, but could not find any for March 10, 2017. It seemed like Okd2.com simply made up the story about the event because the said “Gawad sa Puso ni Jim” concert was not among CCP’s events for the month of March.
According to Philippine Primer’s article about the January to March 2017 events at the CCP and CCP’s own site, the only scheduled events at the institution include the following:
- Noli Me Tangere, The Opera – January 28-29, 2017
- Pasinaya Open House Festival 2017: Palihan at Palabas – February 4-5, 2017
- Manila Fringe @ CCP – February 8-26, 2017
- Indak Filipinas: Festival of Philippine Folkloring Dance and Music – March 7-9, 2017
- Madama Butterfly – March 14, 2017
- Carrying the Banner for Chamber Music in the Philippines – March 16, 2017
- 34th Concert Season 2016-2017 of the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra – March 17, 2017
- Performatura Festival II: Performed Literatures – March 30-31, 2017
- Kristo y Kristo – March 22-April 24, 2017
This means that Okd2.com has once again written a fake story about Paredes, probably riding on the heat that the singer/activist has gotten for his issue with Duterte’s supporters last February 25. If you see more stories from this fake news site, it is in your best interest to verify it claims first before sharing and talking about its stories with other people. Otherwise, you may fall victim to fake news.
