A member of the Duterte fan page shared an article about how US President-elect Donald Trump appointed a Filipino-American to head the US Immigration office.
At first look, the article really looks like it comes from Huffington Post.
But if you click on the link of the article, it is quite obvious that the site is definitely not the real Huffington Post but a poor imitation of the website. In fact, it’s URL, huffingtonpost-fm.com, is a telling sign of how the site tried to pass itself off as Huffington Post.

The article claimed that Trump appointed Fil-Am Leon Rodriguez “to head the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). It also said that this came as a surprise to people who expected Trump to appoint a “white racist” to lead the agency.
Trump was even quoted in the article supposedly saying this: “As such I have to put the interest of the rest of the world too at heart. Appointing a Filipino-American would send a great message out there that I’m not just wicked on illegal immigrants.”

However, we found out that the US Senate already confirmed Leon Rodriguez as the director of the USCIS in June 2014 and was sworn into office in July 2014. And unlike what the site claimed, Rodriguez is not Filipino-American. The USCIS’ About Us page about Rodriguez said that he is the son of Cuban immigrants who went to the US in 1961 and was raised speaking Spanish. Rodriguez is still the director of the USCIS until now.
