Busted: Did Trump acknowledge Filipinos supporting his campaign? It’s just another fake article!

An article claimed that US President-elect Donald Trump has acknowledged the Filipinos support for his US presidential campaign and even vowed that he won’t disappoint.

Trump Acknowledge Filipinos Supporting Campaign

But the article came from thet1mes.com. Yep, one of the notorious blogs with articles that we have busted over and over again for their fictional claims.

But we still clicked on the link to find out what thet1mes is claiming this time. It said that US President-elect Donald Trump has congratulated Filipinos for their “tireless campaign” on social media during the US election campaign. It further claimed that Filipinos are pro-Trump and that Trump is a “close ally” of Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte.

Thet1mes also claimed that Trump said the Philippines will be the first country to restore its relationship with the US and that no Filipino immigrant will be deported.

Trump was even quoted saying: “I have good relations records with President Duterte, i knew him when he was a mayor in Davao city in Philippines and the man is focused, Filipinos in USA should not worry at all since our friendship the Philippines and President Duterte in particular is undescribable.”

Yes, thet1mes claimed that Trump used that word – “undescribable.”

Another quote that supposedly came from Trump: “Filipinos are well disciplined just like their president Duterte, they deserve my respect, not like crooked Hillary Clinton and her followers. Congratulations Filipinos.”

However, all of these claims are purely fictional, just like many of the articles published by thet1mes.

While US President Barack Obama said that he was optimistic about US-PH relations getting better and stronger because Trump and Duterte have the same kind of temperament, the two leaders are far from being “close allies.”

The US-PH relationship also wasn’t Trump’s priority after he won in the US elections.

And that promise about not deporting Filipinos is a lie! Trump just vowed to immediately deport 3 million illegal immigrants and Filipinos are not exempted if they are staying in the US illegally. In fact, the Philippine government even urged undocumented Filipinos in the US to come home.

“The labor chief urged undocumented OFWs in the United States to return to the country amid the threat of massive deportation of illegal immigrants once US president-elect Donald Trump assumes office in January,” Rappler quoted Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella on November 16.

Thet1mes have made it their business to post fake articles. We have busted several fake articles from this site, such as African presidents calling Duterte a “hero,” Queen Elizabeth II erecting a statue for Duterte in the UK or her hinting that Obama was scared of Duterte, Chinese president calling Duterte a genius, and more.

If you see articles from thet1mes, it would be best to ignore it or verify its claims by searching for other credible sources first before falling for its claims.
