Facebook pages “Duterte Parallel Organization –Tagumpay ng Pagbabago” and “Ang Bayan Ko” shared articles claiming that three East African heads of state requested to meet Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte.
The article posted by socialnewsph.com said that “President Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya, Paul Kagame of Rwanda and Yoweri Musenveni of Uganda would like to personally meet the Philippines President, Rodrigo Duterte.” This supposedly happened during the presidents’ joint meeting in Kampala, Uganda. The article added that the East African leaders wanted to know how Duterte pulled off his war against drugs.
Socialnewsph.com also cited its source as The T1mes.
We checked Google and found that The T1mes was indeed one of first blogs that published the article.
When we visited The T1mes, it did claim the same thing about the East African presidents’ desire to meet Duterte to know how to handle drug traffickers.
The only problem is that according to The T1mes’ About Us page, it is a satire news site. Whatever is posted on the site is all made-up.
The website even got Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni wrong as they wrote it as “Yoweri Musenveni.”
But an even bigger problem is that Duterte’s supporters believed in the satirical article, just like how they did with so many other satirical articles.
We have already busted how that news about Queen Elizabeth II wanting to meet Duterte is another satire article, but someone missed our bust.
