A Facebook page ‘Rody Duterte Supporters OFW Global Movement’ posted a photo and a quote on what he supposedly said about the Kidapawan protest, which ended violently in fatalities and injuries on both sides of the police and the protesters. Roxas was quoted on April 1, 2016 saying this.

“Kasalanan na ng mga farmers kung sila ay binaril. Nanlaban sila so we commanded the police na mag open fire na. Sagabal din sila sa highway dahil may campaign din kami sa Cotabato.”
