Netizens called out ABS-CBN’s ANC Facebook page for mistakenly writing its caption that marijuana plants were seized in Davao City instead of Danao City.
Pro-Duterte blogger Rey Joseph Nieto, a.k.a. Thinking Pinoy, was among those who corrected ANC’s page for the error.

“Sa sobrang gigil ng ABS-CBN News, nabobo na sa geography. DANAO HINDI DAVAO!!! Cebu ang Danao, mga ungas. Nahiya naman kami sa mga “legit journalists,” Nieto wrote on Facebook on November 10 at 11:19 pm.
We checked the ANC 24/7’s actual post on November 10 at 11 pm, but it already reflected the correct name of the place where the marijuana plants were found in the ABS-CBN News report, “P3-M worth of marijuana plants seized in Danao City.”
“Some P3 million worth of marijuana plants were uprooted in two barangays in Danao City,” the caption read.
But we checked the post’s Edit History and found that the original caption did show that it mentioned “Davao City” instead of “Danao City.”
Aside from Nieto, the commenters on ANC’s post also slammed the Facebook page for its mistake.
Someone even tagged Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio and urged her to file a case against “biased” ABS-CBN.
Another wanted ABS-CBN to apologize to the Davaoeños.
The ABS-CBN News report was about P3 million worth of marijuana plants that were discovered and uprooted in barangays Togonon and Sibakan in Danao City, Cebu. PDEA-7 said that they seized around 18,000 marijuana stalks.
