Senator Leila de Lima allegedly said that she is prepared to fund the Abu Sayyaf group.

The article was also shared by the Facebook page, ABiaS-CBN News.
De Lima’s alleged involvement with the Abu Sayyaf was reportedly confirmed by the bandit group’s leaders, Radulan Sahiron and Alhabsy Misaya. The article also claimed that De Lima was a mere instrument used to channel the Aquino administration’s support to the group. The support was meant to fuel Abu Sayyaf to create more chaos for the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte.

The Roxas night market bombing in Davao was even mentioned, adding that it was Abu Sayyaf who was responsible for the fatal explosion in September 2016.
The article said that the Liberal Party has been funding rebels since the administration of the late former President Corazon Aquino, knowing that it was her husband, Ninoy, who founded the NPA to distract the Marcos administration.
How then are the funds channeled to Abu Sayyaf? The article claimed that they received the money through Smart Padala from a certain “Kuya Ron,” whom they revealed to be De Lima’s driver-lover, Ronnie Dayan. Dayan allegedly confirmed these transactions, which happened three times a month, to pay for one bombing or bomb scare every four months.
However, De Lima denied the allegations of her being a protector and financier of the Abu Sayyaf, calling such claims “totally insane” and “outrageously ridiculous,” based on a GMA News report about the issue.
“This latest accusation that I am a protector and financier of terrorists is not only totally insane but also outrageously ridiculous!” De Lima said in a statement issued on November 21 last year.
“Like many of you, I too am exhausted and disgusted at this administration’s obsession for manufactured lies and malicious conjectures to smear my integrity and damage my name,” she added.
De Lima’s statement came after she was accused of funding the release of three alleged Abu Sayyaf members.

The senator chalk the surfacing of these fake stories to the Duterte administration’s desire to hide their own recklessness using a demolition job against her.
“But what is getting clearer to me and to most good people I know is that the administration’s demolition job against its political opponents is sinking to a new low to hide its own incompetence and recklessness to address more pressing national problems,” De Lima said.
As for claims that it was Abu Sayyaf who was responsible for the Davao bombing, these are false as well. According to reports, some of the suspects who were arrested in relation to the bombing were members of the Maute Group, not of Abu Sayyaf. However, it was also revealed that the Maute group’s motive behind the bombing was to “divert and disrupt” the Philippine government’s operations against the Abu Sayyaf in Sulu.
Moreover, the source of the article we busted above is not exactly the most credible source there is, considering how newscandalph.blogspot.com has published several fake stories in the past.
It posted about hoaxes such as De Lima’s petition against Duterte being dismissed by the Supreme Court, CCTV footage of the death of Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa being released when the footage is still missing, and the late Cory Aquino being the third Filipino saint, among others.
