Several fan pages of President Rodrigo Duterte and the Marcos family shared news of newly-elected US President Donald Trump tripling his financial aid to the Philippines. These pages include “Duterte Media,” “Resbak for Atty. Rody R. Duterte,” “Kilusang Bagong Lipunan” and “President Rodrigo “Rody” Roa Duterte Supporters.”

Note how they even shared the same caption – “Trump really loves out country! Parehas sila ng karisma n gating Pangulo.”
According to the article at balitangbayan.com, Trump has increased the US’ financial aid to the Philippines by almost a three-fold.

For the past years, the article said the Philippines has been receiving a maximum of $120 million financial aid from the US; however, through Trump’s executive powers, the country is set to receive up to $300 million effective immediately.
Trump was quoted, “Duterte is doing a lot he cannot accomplish his good plans without enough money. He is a president not for only the Philippines, but the entire Asia. The Filipino population requires so much.”
He commented that with the country’s population of over 100 million, the Philippines is in need of this much assistance, this is regardless or not if the funds were to be used for the government’s war on drugs.
Out of all countries receiving financial aid from the US, the Philippines would be the first to receive such a great amount.
Trump adds, “This is to foster and sustain development progress; prevent, mitigate, and respond to humanitarian crises; and confront threats to the country’s security and stability.”

However, no official news source has reported of Trump promising to provide triple financial aid to the country. The last news regarding this matter was on October last year wherein the US has committed to financing $180 million for the fiscal year 2017.
It comes to no surprise however, that this news is all made up as the article was lifted from local-reports.com and bbctimes.com, which we found out to have published several fake news.
