A Facebook user by the name Tess Dellosa shared to a group named “SARA DUTERTE SOLID SUPPORTERS” a photo quoting the President on his alleged comment regarding his plan to close down the University of the Philippines due to the obscenity of the Oblation Run.
This was supposedly President Rodrigo Duterte’s statement on the Oblation Run conducted by the Alpha Phi Omega (APO) Fraternity, in protest of Marcos’ burial at the Libingan ng mga Bayani and a call for justice for the victims of Martial Law last November 25.
The Oblation Run has been a tradition long-held by UP chapters of Alpha Phi Omega (APO) in different UP campuses and is a platform for declaring the fraternity’s stand on issues and encourage other students to join the movement. The recent run also appealed to the current administration to put a halt to extrajudicial killings and contractual labor.

The said photo is now circling the web and is being shared by other groups such as “Rodrigo Duterte Para Sa Tunay na Pagbabago” and has been reported by News Bureau, a site that claims to “provide the latest breaking news and videos from the entertainment industry.”
Ms. Dellosa’s post itself has reached 157 shares and garnered 442 reactions; if we include the amount of shares and reactions from other posts, more than a thousand individuals have likely seen the post.
Correction: That’s more than a thousand people misinformed.

That’s right. The statement itself never existed and never came out of President Duterte’s mouth. No accounts coming from reliable news outlets or official announcements from Palace representatives can serve as proof that Duterte uttered these words in any public or private gathering.
Hence, before you start clicking on that share button or giving out your two cents on the issue, make sure you’re being fed real information instead of lies!
