A Facebook page that seems to be supporting President Rodrigo Duterte carelessly shared a death hoax that President Rodrigo Duterte’s former wife is dead.

“Run Duterte Run Movement for 2016 Presidency” page shared an article from read-news.com claiming that Duterte’s ex-wife, Elizabeth Zimmerman, has died.
According to the article, Zimmerman died in a hospital in Davao City on “Monday afternoon,” although we could not find a date on the story itself. It was allegedly Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, her daughter, who told the media about Zimmerman’s demise after battling an illness.

However, read-news.com is merely spreading a death hoax. The article was actually shared on Facebook about a month ago, based on this link search result that we found.
This meant that the hoax was first shared around the first week of April.
But there is definite proof that Zimmerman is alive and well way past that period. Her daughter, Sara, posted her birthday greetings for her mom on Instagram on April 14. Zimmerman turned 69 on that day.
Even Inday Sara herself fell victim to a death hoax. She even made fun of the hoax on her Instagram.
