The story has been shared by some Duterte support pages on the social media site, including “Duterte Phenomenon,” “Pres. Rody Duterte News Global,” “Duterte Balita,” “Duterte Administration,” “Duterte Para sa Pagbabago,” “Filipino News Info,” “Tatay Digong Global Supporters,” “Pinoy Republic,” and more.

However, the content in pinoybalita.net is no longer available. We found an 18-minute YouTube video on phinoyviralnews.com, but it is not in any way relevant to the headline’s claim about the UN defending Duterte.
The YouTube video was all about President Duterte slamming the owners of the Philippine Daily Inquirer and ABS-CBN, calling them “mukhang pera,” and cursing at them, while inserting jokes about his health and telling the audience he regretted winning the presidency. Of course, he didn’t forget to talk about his war on drugs, as with his many other speeches.
Nowhere was it mentioned in the video that the UN came to Duterte’s defense. We think the misleading headline was based on the fake news from thet1mes.com that said, “UN Human Rights Defends Duterte From European Parliament Attacks.
Meme Buster has debunked this hoax already. There is no truth to thet1mes.com’s claim that the new UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres had said that the Philippine government’s drug war is not violating human rights but is instead protecting the people’s rights.
