President Rodrigo Duterte delivered his second State of the Nation Address (SONA) on July 24, 2017 in Batasang Pambansa, Quezon City.
The President enumerated what his administration has accomplished so far since he took his oath as the highest executive of the land last June 30, 2016 and what issues he would resolve in the future.
In reaction to Duterte’s SONA, several netizens used memes to express themselves.
One Twitter user imagined how Duterte’s speech writer would have felt when the President went off-script.

The parody page Superficial Gazette of the Republic of the Philippines wanted to offer a prayer for the transcribers of the 2-hour long SONA and the results of their drinking game.
“Let us pray for the victims of the #SONA2017. The poor souls who have to TRANSCRIBE over 2 hours of Duterte talking,” SGRP wrote.
