Several Filipino netizens, who are supporters of Democratic party standard bearer Hilary Clinton, expressed their frustrations about the result of the US elections on social media showing pictures of the “squad” they would rather not see.
With the hashtag “#SquadGoals,” Pinoys posted edited pictures of Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte together with US President-elect Donald Trump, and other state leaders like Vladimir Putin of Russia, and Xi Jinping of China.

While some people posted the picture of this “squad” to express their dissatisfaction of the current state leaders, others posted it together with captions saying how having “strong” leaders is a good thing and that they look forward to better relations between these countries because of the similarities in their leaders.

President Duterte had been caught up in several controversies after launching into expletives towards US President Barack Obama and other US leaders because of their criticism towards Duterte’s campaign against drugs.
After the U.S. Elections, the Palace released an official congratulatory statement from Duterte to Trump saying that the Philippine president “looks forward to working with the incoming administration for enhanced Philippines-US relations anchored on mutual respect, mutual benefit and shared commitment to democratic ideals and the rule of law.”
