Netizens called out Peter Laviña for saying that the political opposition, referring to hecklers, colluded with the drug lords and Abu Sayyaf in bombing Davao City’s night market on September 2.
While many of the commenters on Laviña’s conspiracy theory post, there were also netizens who slammed him for posting something that only served to divide the nation.
Some said the elections are over and Laviña should stop posting such gossip that only breeds divisiveness and hate instead of calling for unity.
Another called him out for being making a post that is a “disgrace” to his Christian values.
One netizen decided to have a counter-speculation, emphasizing on the fact that his is just that – a speculation – pointing to forces in the Duterte administration as the suspects behind the bombing.
Then someone piped up, agreeing that the ASG, drug lords, corrupt politicians and “Kultong Dilaw” are likely the brains behind the attack and targeted Davao City because it is Duterte’s home city. Another netizen corrected her, saying that the night market bombing was not the first time the city was attacked, adding that people should refrain from speculating until proof has been presented.
A netizen who claimed to be a Duterte supporter called Laviña a “retard” for inciting hate while other Cabinet secretaries were calling for people to stay calm.
Laviña was also called out for making an “irresponsible” statement from who is supposedly a responsible government official.
This is not the first time Laviña has been “irresponsible” in his Facebook posts despite his position in Malacañang. Last week, he used the photo of a crime scene of rape and murder in Brazil in 2014 to seemingly justify the “relentless” need to combat drugs and crime. He was called out by journalists he branded as “presstitutes” after his post went viral.
