15 more fake news and satire sites to watch out for

2. metro-uk.com

Metro-uk.com does not have an About Us or Disclaimer page, so we went straight to checking the kinds of articles that it publishes. Once again, we focused on the stories published by the website and found that it contains a lot of hoaxes involving the Philippines, some of which we have busted.

We already busted the false claims about De Lima pushing for a social media ban in the country, the new Thai king dating Philippines’ Queen Kadayao, ICC issuing an arrest warrant against Duterte, billionaire John Gokongwei buying a bulletproof car for Duterte, former US President Barack Obama calling De Lima abnormal, and Duterte being announced as the “world’s best president.” This is the same site that published fake stories about Queen Elizabeth II calling Duterte, Trump as blessings to the world, the UK adding Duterte to their high school syllabus, and more.

3. usa-radio.com

According to their About Us page, usa-radio.com targets breaking news and rumors, claiming that most of the stories published on the site were broken by them. But there are so many hoaxes on their site that this only showed how they might have merely covered rumors, or fully made-up news.

Fake News and Satire Sites

We have busted several stories from usa-radio.com, including Duterte attracting investors like Bill Gates to invest $20 billion in the Philippines, former President Fidel Ramos testing positive for drugs, Jackie Chan shooting a movie on Duterte’s first 100 days, Duterte being forced to go to the US for Trump’s inauguration, TIMES magazine ranking Duterte and Putin ahead of Obama as 2016 Most Influential President, and more. They also published fake stories about De Lima being the richest Filipino and Trump saying he needed Duterte for his inauguration.

4. aljazeera-tv.com

If you start browsing aljazeera-tv.com, it suddenly starts to change into vanguardngr.local-reports.com. It does not have a readily visible About Us or Disclaimer page as well, but upon checking the articles that it publishes, the website turned out to be a fake news site.

Some of the stories we have busted include Russia creating 2 million jobs in the Philippines, new Thai king dating Queen Kadayao of the Philippines, Duterte banning public smoking, and Henry Sy buying a private jet for Duterte. The website also published articles about De Lima pushing for a social media ban and Gokongwei buying a bulletproof car for Duterte.
