Another malicious meme is circulating again courtesy of a Facebook page GetRealPhilippines.COM. This time, targeting the Malacañang Palace for its alleged ‘deafening silence’ to the beheading of Canadian national John Ridsdel by the Abu Sayyaf. This is a LIE.
Of course, this is another attack to the LP’s Presidential bet, Mar Roxas. The truth is, the Liberal Party [LP] standard-bearer Mar Roxas is outraged by the recent beheading of Canadian hostage John Ridsdel by his Abu Sayyaf captors in Sulu.

Roxas said the government should bring to justice the senseless killing of Ridsdel, one of four hostages abducted by the Abu Sayyaf from Ocean View Resort on Samal Island in September last year.
“I am outraged by the horrific murder of John Ridsdel at the hands of the terrorist Abu Sayaff. The full force of the state must be applied to apprehend and bring the perpetrators to justice,” Roxas said.
The beheading was confirmed following the issuance of a joint statement by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) on Tuesday.
Reports said that Ridsdel was beheading in the forested area of Patikul Monday afternoon.
Roxas said the government has exerted all efforts to safely rescue Ridsdel, his fellow Canadian Robert Hall, Norwegian Kjartan Sekkingstad and Filipino Marites Flor.
The Abu Sayyaf demanded P300 million ransom for each of the hostages but its deadline of April 25 lapsed, apparently without payment of the ransom.
“Since the abduction of Ridsdel and the other hostages, all means have been sought to free them. This horrific murder should steel us to triple our efforts,” Roxas said.
“Let us not give up hope that the others are rescued, and I appeal for the cooperation and support of our fellow citizens in this mission,” he added.
Roxas said that terrorism is bullying in its most heinous and brutal form.
“It preys on the weak and defenseless. Where is the courage in hurting let alone beheading a defenseless person? It does not make you strong. It does that further your cause. It only leads to fear and eventually, subjugation,” he said.
Roxas said all peace-loving Filipinos must stand against the terrorists to give justice to Ridsdel brutal killing. He also extended deepest sympathies to the family, loved ones, and fellow citizens of the Canadian national.
“All Filipinos of good will must be united in the resolve to ensure that not only will justice will be done, but that the terrorist Abu Sayaff will be neutralized and face the inexorable consequences of their brutality and inhumanity,” Roxas said.
