Busted: Judy Taguiwalo denies Vivian Velez’ claim she attended CHR rally

Former Social Welfare Secretary Judy Taguiwalo clarified that she did not attend the Commission on Human Rights’ rally on September 21.

She contradicted actress Vivian Velez’ claim that she attended the rally, saying that she is not “Yellow.”

“Hello. Hindi ako yan! Una, hindi ako dilaw! Never ako dilaw! Ikalawa, I am out of the country, visiting family!” Taguiwalo wrote.

She also used the hashtags #NeverAgain! #FightTyranny #StopTheKilling #ExposeFakeNews in her post on September 21.
Taguiwalo wrote the post after news about Velez claiming that it was Taguiwalo who was pictured beside Senator Bam Aquino, Vice President Leni Robredo, and former President Benigno Aquino III at the Diokno Freedom Park.

The former Social Welfare Secretary also included photos of herself with her family, which she visited abroad.

Velez captioned her post, “Judy Taguiwalo… at Diokno Freedom Park Today.”

When confronted by netizens that the woman in the photo was not Taguiwalo, Velez insisted that it was really the former DSWD chief.

A netizen pointed out that the woman Velez thought was Taguiwalo was actually former CHR chairperson Judge Aurora Navarrate Reciña.

Reciña is the honorary chairperson of CHR, which she used to serve from 1996 to 2002.
