Filipinos who are against the burial of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani took to social media and eventually, to the streets, to express their protests against it. They organized rallies on November 25 and 30 all over the country, shouting just how unworthy Marcos is of being buried at the heroes’ cemetery when he is far from being a hero, what with the human rights violations during his time.

Aside from chanting, lighting their phones up, and bringing plastic shovels as a symbol of their desire to exhume Marcos’ remains from his grave at the LNMB, the protesters also brought their A-game when it came to preparing placards. They expressed their anger, disappointment, and distaste at this move orchestrated by the Marcoses and the rest of those who had a hand in the burial.
- Imee’s Face = National Treasure
“Imee’s face is a national treasure. We paid for it! #MarcosMagnanakaw”
Netizens who reacted negatively to Imee Marcos’ Philippine Tattler magazine cover accused her of having had plastic surgery, especially on her chin.
- Imeldific Shoes
“Sapatos ni Imelda utang ng bayan.”
Imelda is famous for her collection of over 3,000 pairs of shoes, which were partly destroyed by termites, floods and general neglect after being kept in storage in the Philippines when she and her family went to Hawaii in exile after the 1986 EDSA People Power Revolution.
- How to Move On
“#MoveOn only if Marcos #MovesOut.”
Ever since protests have erupted since Duterte promised to have Marcos buried at the LNMB during the campaign up to the dictator’s unannounced burial on November 18, Marcos loyalists have been telling anti-Marcos Filipinos to “move on” from the ‘Martial Law thingy.’ This placard should be enough response to those “move on” suggestions.
- Star Wars Theme
“Once upon a time in a country far far away, Marcos was no hero.”
Star Wars fans would know after one look at the font.
- Voltes V
“Let’s revolt in vs. justice.”
Trivia: “Voltes V” and other robot animes were banned from airing during Martial Law. The Marcos government reasoned the show had “excessive violence.”
- Botox
“No Botox needed. #IsoliAngNinakaw.”
This is once again throwing shade at Imee.
