Facebook page Silent No More PH issued an erratum on August 22 over the wrong use of photo for one of the cops involved in the death of Kian Lloyd delos Santos.

The page previously posted the Facebook profile and a photo of a certain “Cruz Jerwin Paul Nuñez with the caption, “Sino ang pumatay ke Kian? PO1 Jerwin Cruz #JusticeForKian.”

However, the Facebook page later realized that they pointed to the wrong Jerwin Cruz.

In their statement, Silent No More said, “Upon checking, PO1 Jerwin Cruz is not the same person as Jerwin Cruz Nunez. We apologize for any inconvenience this error might have produced.”

However, one of the top comments on the post was that of a certain Paauuline Cruz, who claimed to be the sister of the guy in the photo that was mistakenly used by Silent No More.

In her comment, Cruz slammed the page for endangering the life of her brother and causing concern among her parents. She took issue with the page’s use of the word “inconvenience” when her brother’s life was put at risk.

“Inconvenience?!?! My brother received threats! My family, especially my parents are worried of his life! If anything happens to my brother it’s all your fault! All this wrong accusations and false information, if he end up like Kian? Who’s to be blame? You all be careful as well! Posting this deceitful information to the interweb is dangerous so you better stop and think! Do your research and investigation first! People follow your page for information you should provide them an accurate one! Your logo states what? Real people, real opinions, real issues, real talk. FAKE NEWS! Because you posted fake information which might endanger a person’s life! #thinkbeforeyouclick #NoMoreFakeNews,” she wrote.

When another commenter suggested that they should file a lawsuit, Cruz said that they “will do everything to stop this.”

The man mistakenly posted by Silent No More was indeed not the PO1 Jerwin Cruz that was involved in the 17-year-old boy’s death on August 16. The three cops that are under investigation are the ones posted by Rappler in an August 21 tweet.

This is not the first wrong use of photo that involved the cops in Kian’s slay. Earlier, we busted the photo that went viral featuring Vice President Leni Robredo and another man, who was accused by the netizens as the cop who killed Kian. The man’s stepson saw the post and corrected the wrong assumptions against his stepdad. The latest reports showed that the man in the photo with Robredo wants to file a case over those who made false accusations against him.

The man’s photo with Robredo was shared by some pages and FB users, including Paula Defensor Knack, to try linking the LP to Kian’s death.
