The poster in the original photo actually says, “Physicians for Peace celebrates Jesse’s life with PWDs.”
But this was edited to make it seem as though Bicolanos are “ashamed” of the wife of the man honored by the activity depicted in the original poster as it says, “Taga Bicol kami, Ikinahiya namin si Leni.”

It is worth noting that the national coordinator of the Physicians for Peace is Jesse’s sister, Dr. Penny Robredo-Bundoc, pictured here in white (fourth person from the left). The organization has helped in giving away thousands of artificial limbs and wheelchairs. Robredo-Bundoc was also all out in supporting VP Leni during the campaign period.
The poster also indicated a celebration with the PWDs (persons with disabilities) because one of Jesse’s personal advocacies was looking after their welfare.
He was once quoted during his keynote address at the launching of the Fully Abled Nation on April 18, 2012 saying, “This is personal to me. I am no stranger to PWDs.”
His father lost his eyesight due to a rare eye ailment when Robredo was only 4 and the same hereditary ailment caused two of his siblings to go blind as well.
The former Interior secretary died in a plane crash on August 18, 2012.
