Martino Diño was announced to be the next chair and administrator of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority, present SBMA Chair Roverto Garcia said through a text message on Friday (September 23).
This was announced by Garcia in a flag ceremony last Monday, September 19, which was attended by SBMA employees. However, the current chair says that this appointment to Diño is still unofficial until Malacañang releases the appoint papers.

Despite it still being unofficial, Diño already met with Garcia and some SBMA officials on September 22. He also said that Diño sent a transition team to assure the smooth turnover of SBMA to him.
It can be recalled that Diño was a candidate for the presidency in the past elections. However, he withdrew from the race and wrote Rodrigo Duterte as his substitute and standard bearer of the PDP-Laban instead.
SBMA deputy administrator for legal affairs, Atty. Randy Escolango, confirmed that the appointment of Diño to be new SBMA chair and administrator will be made official next week.
