Muntinlupa City’s local government unit bellied the post as Public Information Officer Tez Navarro told GMA News Online via phone interview that Duterte for Real Change’s post was not true at all.
“It is not true. How we wish [he will visit]. We will be honored to have the President in Muntinlupa.”
The story was also debunked by the city’s official Twitter account at OFFICIALMUNTI.
The account tweeted, “Contrary to other posts, the clearing operation was done last week. Mayor Jaime Fresnedi was then attending the World Cities Summit in Singapore. President Rodrigo Duterte is not in Muntinlupa today (July 18, 2016). #fyi.
No matter how much the admin of the page wished to have Duterte’s taxi driving story in Davao City repeated somewhere else in the country, this story is not true. It would be best to wait for the President to once again pull off his incognito tours all over the country. By making false claims, they are only sullying Duterte’s otherwise pure intention for going incognito, which is to check on the Filipinos.
