Netizens have been praising the Department of Social Welfare and Development after seeing a comparison of the DSWD warehouse for relief goods, marked “before” and “after,” probably in reference to the start of the new administration.
One such example of this is this post by Facebook fan pages President Rodrigo “Rody” Duterte. It was even captioned “Ganito binibigyang importansya ng Duterte Administration ang mga ordinaryong Pilipino.”
Duterte fan page also shared the same photo, while addressing former PNoy spokesperson Edwin Lacierda.
Mocha Uson Blog gave props to the current administration’s way of handling the relief goods.
However, the mechanized repacking system used to speed up the process of packing relief goods was installed in September 2015, during former President Benigno Aquino III’s administration.

During the inauguration ceremony of the system, former Social Welfare Secretary Dinky Soliman and representatives from the World Food Program (WFP) and UK’s Department for International Development were in attendance.
The modern repacking system consists of case erectors, rice bagging machines, a pallet racking system, and a conveyor system, will help produce more than 50,000 family food packs daily in times of a disaster. These are estimated to be enough for over 250,000 people for 3 days.
Each family food pack contains rice, coffee, and canned goods.
According to the article, the modernized food packing production facility is the fruit of the partnership between the DSWD, the WFP, and the Office of Civil Defense to improve the disaster preparedness process of the Philippines.

No wonder Mocha Uson and the other Duterte fan pages were accused of credit grabbing because their captions made it seem as though the system was only available during Duterte’s administration.
To the previous DSWD officials, thank you for putting this mechanized repacking system in place and for hastening the packing of goods and organizing the warehouse. To the current DSWD officials, thank you for making full use of this system. In the end, it’s all for the benefit of the Filipino victims of disasters.
