Facebook page “Global News Caster” shared an article a few days ago about how the wife of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos has died at 87. The source of the article, at first look, appeared to be the Manila Times.

The report claimed that Imelda “died peacefully in her sleep while taking a nap on Friday afternoon,” as per the Marcos’ family statement. It added that she has been feeling weak in the past few months. The article also noted Imelda’s large collection of thousands of shoes and other designer brands.

The comments section under the post was mostly about how people who readily accused the news as fake, while there are others are confused, with one falling straight into the trap of deception as she wished Imelda to rest in peace.

However, nothing could be further than the truth. Imelda is very much alive. In fact, she has just given her colleagues at the House of Representatives a Valentine’s Day gift in the form of a small, red-colored teddy bear placed on their tables. The stuffed toy can even say the words, “I love you.”
