Busted: Duterte named Binay as a VIP drug suspect? The story is fictitious!

Several news articles have been posted claiming that Jejomar Binay was one of the government officials who have been included by President Rodrigo Duterte to his list of officials who are allegedly involved in drug trading activities in the Philippines.

The original source of this circulating article is meganews360.com and it has already been posted by several Facebook pages and shared by some people in social media.

The article claims that Duterte included Binay in the list not because of political bias but because of an intelligence that validated the truth.

Duterte also allegedly said that treatment to the former Vice President won’t be different from other drug syndicates once he is proven to guilty of being involved with drugs.

In early August, President Duterte presented to the public a list of public officials who are allegedly involved in illegal drug activities in the Philippines during a speech for his visit to the Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao.

Included in this comprehensive list are several judges, local executives, and police officers. This list covers all officials suspected for drug trade from all over the Philippines.

The list has been posted by several official news sites, such as the Philippine STAR and CNN.

Unlike the claim of meganews360.com, credible sources proved that former Vice President Jejomar Binay was not included in the list that was presented by Duterte.

The article also claims that this “new list” by President Duterte was presented this November. However, there has been no updated list that has been presented by the President aside from the one that was already presented last August.

When we looked at other articles posted by meganews360.com, we found that this is not the first time the site has made false claims against people. In fact, Borneo Bulletin published an article about a false report the same site made about Brunei Prince Abdul Malik.

We also found that the site published the fake news about US President-elect Donald Trump saying he wanted to be like Duterte, a claim that we already busted with “Busted: Article about Trump wanting to be like Duterte is a HOAX!”

Beware of articles from meganews360.com! You might be reading another fake article.
